  About ElderSource
      ElderSource is the state designated Area Agency on Aging and Aging Resource Center   for Northeast Florida covering Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, St. Johns and Volusia counties.
 

     Although a private, not for profit, independent agency, we belong to a nation wide network of over 650 Area Agencies on Aging. Governed by a Volunteer Board of Directors and advised by a Volunteer Advisory Council, the activities of the Agency are funded by federal, state and local grants as well as private donations and endowments.

As the Aging Resource Center, we serve as the focal point to which elders, their caregivers and the general public can turn for information, referral, assistance and answers related to aging issues. Our Elder Helpline has trained and certified staff ready to help you or someone you know. Volunteers through our Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders
(SHINE) program, are also available to offers free health insurance counseling, information and assistance by contacting the Elder Helpline.

If you need additional information or resources on an issue you may borrow materials through our resource library. This lending library contains a variety of aging related material including books, videos, audiotapes and games about and for the elderly. There is also a computer with internet access and printing capability for individuals to do research.

As an Area Agency on Aging, ElderSource is charged with the responsibility of identifying the needs of elders and caregivers in the region, develop plans and fund the services to help meet those needs and ensure the quality of those services. Some of the services we offer through these contracts include, but are not limited to, emergency energy assistance, congregate and home delivered meals, recreation, education, shopping assistance, case management, health support, home repair and modification, adult day care, homemaker, personal care, legal assistance and transportation as well as support, training, counseling and respite for caregivers including grandparents raising grandchildren.
