ElderSource Announces Decision to Subcontract with Senior Services in Clay County

Aging True Community Senior Services to Operate Senior Services in Clay County Beginning January 1, 2019

The Board of Directors for the Clay County Council on Aging (CCOA) along with ElderSource, the Area Agency on Aging, announced today that the Clay County Council on Aging is unable to continue as the provider of senior services in Clay County.

ElderSource, the primary funder for the Council on Aging, will subcontract with Aging True deliver services to the seniors in the community. Aging True is the lead agency and community provider for senior services in Duval County. The transition is underway with an effective date of January 1, 2019.

As the senior services provider, Aging True will manage the four congregate meal sites and senior centers in Orange Park, Keystone, Middleburg and Green Cove Springs. This includes the distribution of home-delivered meals along with a variety of senior care support services such as adult daycare, respite, personal and companion care.

“Our clients, along with the quality and continuity of care we offer them, are our priority,” said Linda Levin, CEO of ElderSource. “There will be little to no disruption of services. We are dedicated to offering valuable programs and are confident that Aging True will provide excellent care and services,” she said.

“Aging True Community Senior Services is happy to provide service and care to seniors in Clay County. Our goal is to ensure that all seniors in Northeast Florida are able to remain healthy and independent for as long as possible,” said Terri Barton, CEO of Aging True Community Senior Services. We look forward to working with the staff and clients in Clay County,” she added.

Renee Knight, Vice President of Community Services for ElderSource and currently the interim Executive Director, will complete her role and work with Aging True in this transition until December 31, 2018.
