About ElderSource – Providing Help For Northeast Florida Elders & Seniors
The mission of ElderSource is to empower individuals to age with independence and dignity by providing leadership, direction, advocacy and support for a comprehensive, coordinated continuum of care.
We reach out to more than 12,000 people each year to people in our seven county service area including: Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, St. Johns and Volusia counties. The programs and activities of ElderSource are funded by federal, state and local grants as well as private donations and endowments.
The ElderSource staff and our specially trained volunteers are ready to help seniors, adults with disabilities and their caregivers find the assistance they need. We want to help you find the resources you need to make the best decisions possible so you can live with dignity and independence.
Our main responsibilities are to:
- Identify the needs of elders and caregivers in our service area;
- Develop plans to meet these growing needs of our aging population;
- Contract with local agencies to deliver services to clients who need help; and
- Provide oversight of the contracts, ensuring good stewardship of funds and quality services.
As part of our efforts to meet the growing needs of the aging population, ElderSource established in 2009 a fundraising arm, Friends of ElderSource to help raise unrestricted funds in order to provide additional services to the seniors and adults with disabilities and the individuals that care for them.
