Seeking Advisory Council Member in Flagler County

We are currently seeking volunteer members for our Advisory Council, specifically seniors who reside in Flagler County.

Duties for an Advisory Council member are:

  • Reporting on the needs of elderly and emerging issues in their respective counties;
  • Reviewing and comment on the agency’s Area Plan;
  • Studying legislative issues and advocate on behalf of the elderly;
  • Assisting in promoting the mission, programs and activities of the agency;
  • Educating the public about the needs and the contributions of the elderly.

Members serve as voices for the counties in which they live. Advisory Council members are comprised primarily of individuals over the age of 60 who inform the ElderSource Board and Management of the needs of elders in their community and help with advocating on their behalf.

“Our Advisory Council members are an important asset to our organization,” said Linda Levin, Executive Director of ElderSource. “They are an active voice we need to hear in order for us to stay in touch on the senior issues affecting the communities in which they live.”

Meetings are held the third Thursday of every other month from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the ElderSource offices located 10688 Old St. Augustine Road, Jacksonville, Fl. Advisory Council members are reimbursed for their mileage to and from the meeting.
